A Journey Back In Time: How People Talked About Toto Asia 20 Years Ago

The Band Toto Asia

Toto was expanding production facilities abroad, and doing business in France and Germany, Indonesia, Korea and Taiwan, Thailand and the People's Republic of China. North America was seen as a market that would grow for Washlet toilets and bidet seats, in contrast to its "base" markets in Japan and China.

Dhaniram Toto was documenting Toto words to ensure that the future generations could read the words. However, many words were replaced with foreign ones, like dui from Bengali for verandah.

Origins

Established in 1917, Toto's early years mirrored Japan's economic development. In the beginning, Toto manufactured goods to meet the demand for modern, brand new urban housing. It was the first tunnel kiln in the country that could produce ceramics continuously. It also pioneered the use of automation for production control, allowing greater efficiency and consistency.

The company began expanding its operations overseas in the latter part of the 1980s to take advantage of new markets and sales opportunities. It created the Cera Trading Company, importing and distributing other manufacturers' products to complement its own range of sanitary earthenware and plumbing fittings. This strategy helped increase sales and expanded the firm's market share.

By the 1990s, Toto had shifted its focus on research and development of water-related household appliances. It also improved its distribution system to better serve the needs of customers and to increase profits. The company implemented a just-in-time approach to supply chain management and applied the same methodology in its sales strategy. This resulted in a greater degree of customer satisfaction.

Toto continues to invent in the toilet technology. Its most recent toilet, for example is equipped with a powerful tornado flush that is more eco green than traditional toilets. The company also uses recycled water in its production process and has a green procurement policy. In addition to toilets Toto manufactures bathtubs and faucets, as well as hand dryers that are more efficient in terms of energy consumption than conventional models.

The first museum of the company was opened in the year 2015 and features exhibits on Toto's most iconic products and their evolution, its group companies (all having to do with ceramics) and the history of plumbing and products like bath units and, in a different gallery, Toto products sold around the world. The museum has the bathroom equipped with a washbasin and other toilet innovations.

Before forming Toto, members of the group did sessions for a variety of musicians. Boz Scaggs' album Silk Degrees featured keyboardist David Paich as well as guitarists Mike Porcaro & Steve Lukather, drummer Jeff Porcaro & Steve Lukather. They also performed on records by Steely Dan, Seals and Crofts, and Sonny and Cher.

Discography

With a name like Asia, you would think that the group would be prog queens and kings - but it's actually a fairly straightforward rock group. The band started out as a quartet, and they recorded two albums - 1979's self-titled debut album and 1980's Armed to the Teeth. The group has a wide musical background, but their biggest success came in 1982 with Toto IV.

Toto was able to achieve this through the aid of the hit song "Africa."

Toto's musical mastery is a result of their previous experiences since the members were session musicians for artists like Boz Scaggs, Steely Dan, and Seals and Crofts prior the group. Their sonic signature has become the norm for '80s pop, and has influenced many contemporary artists.

The album begins hard with songs like Running Out of Time or Unknown Soldier that show the band's ability to create great AOR tunes that slowly creep into your head. The album also features more jazzy, slower tracks such as The Little Things and Chinatown. The album concludes with Great Expectations, a song which combines folk and distorted AOR and sounds totally wrong, but is incredibly effective.

After Toto IV the band's fortunes began to wane. David Hungate left to concentrate on his solo career and the band had to go through numerous drummers. In 1984, Bobby Kimball was fired from the band in the after he was charged with drug abuse. the group continued to perform as a trio, which included Michael Porcaro and Steve Lukather.

Toto released Isolation despite the turmoil. It wasn't as well-liked as IV. The band was able to release an album that topped the charts, Kingdom of Desire, in 1992. The album marked the end of the original Toto lineup and was also the first album to feature the new singer, Simon Phillips.

Line-up

The band's third album, Turn Back, marked an reversion to the classic sextet style of the previous albums. It was a stronger, more consistent effort that had an edge that was stronger than Hydra. Its more punk-rock sound reflected the maturation of the group and featured drummer Bobby Kimball's increased proficiency on the drums, as well as a more confident, mature vocal delivery by singer Joseph Williams. Keyboardist David Paich's work was more precise, sharper, and less derivative than earlier performances.

After touring to promote the album, the group recorded a live performance in Amsterdam which was released as a set of two CDs titled Falling In Between Live on Eagle Records. A new studio album was released shortly after, and the group embarked on a world-wide tour to promote it. During this time, keyboardist Greg Phillinganes replaced Paich and bassist David Hungate quit the group to spend time with his family.

In 1998, Paich & Lukather began exploring old tapes and demos to find songs that had never been recorded before.  토토사이트 추천  was completed as a double album titled Then and Now in 2001. It was the band's first album that did not contain the single track "A". The album also contained an previously unreleased track titled "Kari-Anne".

By 2003, Toto had begun to decline in popularity. The group's fourth record, Old Is New was an uncommercial success and vocalist Williams was suffering from laryngitis, which restricted his singing capabilities. Hungate also returned to Nashville and Leland Sklar's drumming duties were replaced by Shem Von Schroeck.

Downes, Wetton Palmer and Howe, the original members of Asia, met in England in the beginning of 2006 to discuss the possibility that the group could be reformed. This lineup, minus Howe who was working with Yes at the time, became Toto XIV. They toured extensively.

In 2010, the band reunited for another reunion tour with a slightly different line-up, including guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather, drummer John Pierce, bassist Shannon Forrest, and multi-instrumentalists Warren Ham and Dominique Taplin.
